BIRTH PEEPS

Join the Storytelling Year July-Oct

July 4, 2019

The Storytelling Year has been very rich. Perhaps storytellers became distracted by summer, I'm not sure, but, due to a lack of response in June, I cancelled the July class which was to be on Fairytales. It is my hope, that with this reminder, Quarter Two students and all new Quarter 3 students will join me on the live call on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 5 pm PST when I will present on Fairytales. This will allow Q2 students to catch up and complete Q2, and a nice way to welcome Q3 students with a call on Fairytales.

If you have not yet signed up for Quarter 3 of the Storytelling Year, now is your chance to do it! Go to:

https://courses.birthingfromwithin.com/courses/specialty-workshop-storytelling-year-quarter-3

Quarter 3 Topics include:

How this course works: On the day Quarter 3 officially starts, Sunday, July 7, at 5 pm PST, you will receive a recording of Pam about building your Boat of Quotes. So you have to be registered with Birthing From Within to receive your invite to this recording. During the month, you will gather quotes and anecdotes, post them on the Forum and/or bring them to share on the Live Call which is on Aug 4, 5 pm PST.

The pattern repeats. In Aug you will receive Pam's recording of a real life heroic journey. During the month, you do your own reading and bring stories and insights to the Forum and Live Call on Sept 1. etc, etc.

Dates and Topics

AUG 4: Gathering Bits and Pieces for your Boat of Quotes: Homeopathic doses of story medicine found in movies, novels, news, historical anecdotes, lyrics, and poems.  You will be required to do a bit of gathering and sharing on the Forum and/or the live call to make this work. If only I contribute, your Boat of Quotes will not be very full.

SEPT 1:  Inspired Biographical Heroic Journeys (Harriet Tubman, Joni Mitchell, Rick Rescorla)  Pam will present one inspired heroic journey, but to get the most out of this class, you will do a bit of reading and reflecting on your own

OCT 6:  Legends: The Peacemaker (Iroquois 15th Century)

Pam will tell parts of this great spiritual and heroic legend. The life of the Peacemaker is deeply moving and a relevant teaching for our own times. Benjamin Franklin admired the Iroquois League's principles and promoted their genius; it inspired his idea to unite the colonies and in developing other aspects of the emerging government of the United States.  To get the most out of this month, you will read the legend in all its phases.

If you wish to register for Quarter 3, Aug 4 through October 6th, 2019, do so on the Birthing From Within website.

This summer, Diedre, a BFW mentor and woman of color shared with me that she could not identify with the Inanna in my earlier painting of “Inanna-Ereshkigal in the Underworld” because of her light skin tone and blue eyes. I did not paint Inanna in my image. Rather, I e...

The past six years have been clouded by periods of uncertainty, cynicism, confusion, despair, and a fear of “running out of time.” Therapy provided insights into several issues but it did not seem to heal my heart which was becoming more guarded and wearier. I consider...

Is a story-teller doomed to carry the negative feelings and self-beliefs about birth like a ball and chain for the rest of their lives, ultimately handing it down to the next generation? Or, is it possible, in an hour-long session for a story-teller to achieve a lastin...

My Dear Friends and Summer Campers,

You may be wondering how am I, where the hell was I for summer camp yesterday, and what is going on. I will tell you. Over the last few months, it began insidiously, and I tried to ignore the call--from my own heart--I notice symptoms...
