We began in the cradle of civilization (Mesopotamia, now southern Iraq) with the epic of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, one of the first recorded and greatest adventure stories, ca 2000 BCE. Then we rode in the donkey-drawn carriage through the streets of old Damascus with Sami, the traditional storyteller and watched him gather and tell stories. Maeve and Pam shared stories from Sheherazade's 1001 Nights... all this before the sun set and the story fire went out. What a delight! The Storyteller's Year, another dream coming true.
